Tom Quinn, Vice President and Site Head, Novo Nordisk Production Ireland, Athlone named inaugural Biopharma & Life Sciences Connected Person of the Month

Biopharma & Life Sciences Connected is pleased to announce Tom Quinn, Vice President and Site Head of Novo Nordisk Production Ireland, Athlone, as the inaugural recipient of its new Person of the Month recognition programme.

The initiative has been established to honour outstanding professionals whose work is shaping the biopharma and life sciences community. Long called for by the sector, these awards are designed to provide a prestigious and credible platform for recognising excellence, leadership and achievement, and we are proud to now bring them to life through Biopharma & Life Sciences Connected.

Tom Quinn has been selected as the first recipient in recognition of the significant and positive developments at Novo Nordisk’s Athlone facility and the wider impact of that strategic achievement for the industry in Ireland, particularly across the Midlands region.

Biopharma & Life Sciences Connected has, over the past seven years, built a strong reputation as a respected platform within the sector, bringing together senior professionals from across industry, academia, government bodies, and key stakeholder organisations. The launch of these awards marks a natural next step in recognising the individuals whose leadership, commitment and achievements are helping to shape the future of the biopharma and life sciences community.

The Person of the Month winners will be selected by an independent judging committee chaired by Matt Moran and Barry Kennedy.

The Person of the Month programme will culminate in a special awards evening in January 2027, where all the 2026 recipients will be invited as VIP guests and the overall Biopharma & Life Sciences Connected Person of the Year will be announced. The event will mark the formal launch of what is set to become a prestigious annual recognition for outstanding professionals across Ireland’s biopharma and life sciences communities.
